Professionally:

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a Master of Science (MS) in Counseling Psychology, an Educational Specialist degree (Ed.S), and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology—all earned from Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!). My educational foundation and diverse professional experiences equip me to provide compassionate, evidence-based care.
Since beginning my career in 2010, I have gained extensive experience across various settings, including psychiatric acute care, community mental health, higher education, and private practice. Each role has deepened my understanding of the complexities of mental health and strengthened my commitment to helping others navigate their unique journeys.
In addition to my clinical work, I am an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University, where I teach graduate-level courses in the Counselor Education program. My instruction focuses on Advanced Practicum in Counseling (G624) and Advanced Internship in Counseling (G647), enabling me to guide future counselors in their professional development.
Professional Contributions and Recognition: I am passionate about raising awareness and fostering meaningful change in the mental health community. In 2022, I was honored to serve as the keynote speaker for the local National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) Walk in Bloomington, IN. I have also been recognized as a nominee for the Outstanding Mental Health Provider award at the Mental Health America of Monroe County's Mental Health Champions Gala in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
As a member of the Eating Disorder Task Force of Indiana (EDTFI) and Indiana University’s Coalition for Overcoming Problematic Eating/Exercise (COPE) team, I actively contribute to initiatives that support individuals struggling with eating disorders and related challenges.
Since 2016, I have served as a contract mental health provider for the Wounded Warrior Project's Project Odyssey retreats. These week-long, adventure-based learning programs empower veterans to overcome invisible wounds of war, build resiliency, and lead fulfilling lives. I have had the privilege of providing therapeutic support for 22 retreats across 11 states.
Commitment to Inclusivity: I am a proud LGBTQ+ ally and gender-affirming provider, dedicated to creating a safe, supportive space for clients to explore the intersectionality of gender identity and sexual orientation. My practice emphasizes inclusivity and respect, ensuring that every individual feels valued and understood.

Personally Speaking

I am a proud mother of two incredible girls and a lifelong student of curiosity and growth. I find joy in the many roles I embody: nature enthusiast, daughter, friend, (prior) athlete, creative soul, brainstormer, advocate, ally, book lover, and neurodivergent thinker. People often call me a "Positive Patsy," and my personality reflects a mix of an Enneagram Type 3 (Achiever) and a Myers-Briggs profile that shifts between INTP and ENFJ.
Above all, I see myself as a guide—a catalyst for change and growth. I believe we are inherently whole, worthy, and enough just as we are. Yet, life’s experiences and the systems and cultures we grow up in often shape our beliefs in ways that can fuel struggles in how we think, feel, and act. My passion lies in helping individuals deconstruct and challenge maladaptive thoughts and behaviors, working to identify and reconstruct negative core beliefs that hinder authenticity and growth.
My journey into counseling began as a client. Over the years, I faced my own struggles, navigating self-limiting beliefs that manifested through perfectionism, anxiety, depression, and a long battle with an eating disorder. Therapy was pivotal in my healing process, helping me to peel back the layers of pain and masking to reconnect with my authentic self. This personal experience taught me the profound importance of the therapeutic relationship—a unique and transformative space where authenticity, compassion, and non-judgment meet. Now, as a therapist, I deeply honor the privilege of walking alongside my clients as they embark on their own journeys. I understand firsthand the healing that can occur when you feel seen, heard, and supported in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
What Brings Me Joy: When I’m not working, I’m usually spending time with my daughters, exploring the outdoors, or indulging in creative outlets. You might find me dancing (often with a tambourine in hand), stacking rocks, journaling, or rockin' it out to music. I love good cup of coffee, photography, writing, yoga, stargazing, or simply enjoying a quiet moment by the lake. Whether it’s whiteboarding a new idea, finding balance on the yoga mat, or embracing a spontaneous power nap, I cherish the little joys that make life meaningful.
